ABOUT

Every Grain is Unique. Every Space Too.
We specialize in the manufacturing and distribution of Yakisugi charred wood, using the ancient Shou Sugi Ban technique. With years of experience, we expertly prepare and treat wood for façades, terraces, fences, and interiors. We guarantee long-lasting results of the highest quality. Our goal is to help you create a warm and sustainable environment using a natural, time-tested carpentry method.
We supply wood treated using the traditional Japanese wood-burning technique known as “Yakisugi” or “Shou Sugi Ban.” This is a natural way of preserving wood, offering protection against the elements along with a distinctive and elegant appearance.
Thanks to the growing trend of using natural materials, the pursuit of sustainable solutions, and the increasing concern for environmental preservation, this technique—already recognized in many countries—is rapidly gaining popularity across Europe.

Enduring Solutions
Rooted in tradition and elevated by craftsmanship, our work is the result of close collaboration with artisans who have mastered the Yakisugi technique. This allows us to offer a diverse range of finishes and formats—each one carefully prepared to meet the demands of modern design and construction. From private homes to large architectural projects, we deliver lasting, sustainable solutions that bring character and depth to any space.

More Than Wood: A Philosophy
The name Zenwood was born from a vision—to create materials that convey balance, warmth, and aesthetic depth. “Zen” represents a state of calm, mindfulness, and harmony with nature. We want every project that uses our wood to evoke that feeling—of well-being, connection, and purpose. A fingerprint inspired by the rings of a tree symbolizes uniqueness: just as no two trees are alike, no two spaces are the same. Our mission is to provide unique wood for unique projects, designed for architects and designers who value authenticity.

Our Values
Our goal is to help you create a cozy, sustainable environment using a natural and proven carpentry method. Our experienced craftsmen understand the nuances of this system, work with meticulous care, and pay close attention to every detail. We use durable woods such as spruce, pine, and larch. The exceptional tones of our charred wood are achieved through the application of natural oils. We guarantee a result of the highest quality that preserves the wood’s natural character, enhances its texture, and ensures long-lasting durability. Charred wood façades, terraces, fences, and accents bring a warm and elegant look to your home and surroundings—lasting for decades. If you're interested in charred wood, our experienced specialists are ready to share their knowledge, show you examples of completed projects, answer any questions, listen to your goals, advise you, and help you find the best solution for your project. At Zenwood, we believe that both indoor and outdoor spaces should feel welcoming and peaceful—and we see wood as the perfect material to create that atmosphere.

Founder, CEO
